Youth, Student & Community Mental Health
India is home to the largest population of adolescents and youth globally, yet the current mental health infrastructure fails to meet their evolving psychological needs. Competitive pressures, family expectations, isolation, and lack of culturally attuned support systems have created a crisis of vulnerability. Suicide remains the leading cause of death in the 15-29 age group, and early signs of distress are often ignored or misunderstood. RIHA’s interventions close this critical gap by embedding prevention, access, and awareness into the fabric of daily life.
We work directly with students, educators, parents, and grassroots leaders to co-design psychosocial frameworks tailored to youth realities. Our models emphasize trust, relevance, and simplicity. Through Project Saarthi, we provide structured mental health support for students in high-stakes academic zones, especially those preparing for competitive exams. We also conduct regional literacy drives, community awareness modules, and train educators in basic psychological first aid. This domain is about ensuring that every young person in India can access timely, non-judgmental, and effective mental health support .
